Booklet Card

I made a few of these; they're great for gathering signatures, best wishes, and, of course, pictures!.  Pretty easy to make.  Basically you start with 12 X 12 card stock and score at 4" & 8".  Turn, repeat.  Trim off the left column (use this to make a little note card?) then, trim off top left and bottom right squares.  Cut about 1/16th-1/18th inch off the inside of the top and bottom squares here for a clean even fold.  Embellish as you wish. Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Stamping. {:o)

Blog Header

OK, I know I haven't posted anything for a few days but here's why:  I have been working on perfecting my blog header.  I think I am finally pleased with it.  Leave a comment if you wish and tell me what you think - especially if you saw the old ones.  The other reason is that my Grandmother on my mothers' side passed away recently.  So a trip will soon be coming - to Texas.  Long drive but I am pretty excited to see a cousin of mine I haven't seen for about 35 years.  That's a long time but we all know how are lives take their own direction.  I will be doing more posting now that we seem to have all the kinks worked out of our arrangements.  Thanks for stopping by today.  {:o)

Easter Gate Fold Card

Easter will be here in just a few short weeks so I wanted to post some cards to get you started.  This lovely card was actually made by a friend of mine at stamp club a while back and is very easy to make.  Attach your designer papers on a simple gate fold card attaching ribbon (about 12" each side) under the bottom layer to tie around the front of your card.  To punch out the circle unfold your card and insert one of the flaps into the punch halfway and punch.  Do the same with the other side.  To help line up the punches you could use the first punch out as a template or make a punched circle from some card stock scrap and trace it onto the closed front of your card lightly and then punch it out.  All that's left is for you to embellish as you wish.  Don't forget to add adhesive to only one side of the sentiment layer on front.  Note the layered circle in the second image that peeks through the punched hole on the card front.  How sweet! Have a great Sunday!

Butterflies & Roses

This was such a fun card to make.  It's definitely in girly girl style.  I started with white card stock folded to 4-1/4"h X 5-1/2"w with a top fold.  I added a matching stripped paper the same size as the card front.  Next I used a coordinating two-sided paper 4"h X 5-1/4"w adhering it all the way to the top and right and fold up the bottom left corner as shown.  I stamped the sentiment on celery card stock and punched out with a small oval punch.  I used a label punch behind the sentiment on pomegranate card stock. I adhered the organdy ribbon roses at the top of the raw edge of the fold of paper and across the card then used foam adhesive to attach the butterflies.  Jewels were added on the butterflies, the label punch, and randomly on the butterfly paper. For the final touch I sprayed a glitter paint mist over the whole card (inside too).
Supplies for this card were purchased from Stampin' Up!, Memories on 5th, Archiver's and Hobby Lobby.  Thanks for stopping by!
Happy stamping!

Birthday Card Wallet

Today I wanted to show you this really cool birthday card for the men in your life.  The "alligator" paper was purchased at my local scrapbook store.  Isn't cool?  I got this idea from a friend and we made this at a stamp club meeting.  Inside you add strips of black card stock to stuff some money into and stitch along the outside to hold it all in place.  I heat embossed the happy birthday image (Stampin' Up) and punched it out with a scalloped square punch (also Stampin' Up).  I popped up the image with foam adhesive.  Put in the mail yesterday.  I can't wait to hear from the recipient.  I know he'll love it!  I'll have another special birthday card for tomorrow so be sure to stop back!  Happy Stamping!
